  11. Yes, folx, this is the first production of Tibetan Peach Pie Inc.
  12. It may be larger then most trackers you know, but then again, i
  13. don't believe in letting programs sit there for the greater part
  14. of a minute whilst generating large tables. =:^)

  16. Also, though the sound quality might not be as good as, say,
  17. DigiComposer, i haven't unpacked that yet. =;^)  And the sound
  18. quality is CERTAINLY better than the ABK-BBS soundtrackers.

  21. So... MarxTracker.  You know the routine... double-click the
  22. MARXTRKR.TTP and enter the module name.  Press space to exit.

  25. Two small problems so far... looping doesn't work QUITE right
  26. yet, and the pitch is just a hair flat... and it doesn't YET
  27. support 15-instrument modules.

  29. Also, be sure you run this in 60Hz.  I haven't made it quite
  30. perfect as regards tempo yet, and i don't plan on ever doing a
  31. 50Hz version of this... though i might, if i receive enough
  32. love mail for it... =;^)

  34. As the last warning, 15-instrument modules will end up sounding
  35. like shit.  This is because a few pointers are different with
  36. 15-instrument mods than with 31-instrument mods.

  38. When i finally add support for these types of mods, it will
  39. not be auto-keying; ie. you must specify on the command line
  40. that it is a 15-voice mod.  "There will be no further
  41. information until there is." -Amanda Ziller's .plan file

  43. Meantime you can load this into any decent 31-instrument tracker
  44. editor and save it back out again, and that should convert it
  45. into a 31-instrument mod.  Convertor program may be coming soon,
  46. depending on demand.

  49. The code is there right now for switching channels on and off
  50. with keys 1-4, but said code isn't implemented yet (yes, time
  51. is THAT TIGHT!)... currently, when said code is inserted, the
  52. machine doesn't have time to scan for the spacebar, or do the
  53. cool screen-inversion effect.  So.... not yet on this either.

  56. As for the player itself, it's basically a slightly tweaked
  57. ProTracker player (as created by Lars Hamre/Amiga Freelancers),
  58. and all the interrupt handling was done by Anders Nilsson (and
  59. ripped mercilessly from the TCB Tracker player, whose mods, by
  60. the way, are incompatible with anything serious in the way of
  61. tracker stuff).  The sound table i ripped from Karl Anders
  62. 0ygard's "Esion XLI" pre-release demo.  About all that was
  63. truly mine was the Paulina routine.

  65. Before packing, MarxTracker was 42k long, and the Paulina takes
  66. up an ungodly amount of CPU time, so believe me, you don't WANT
  67. the source. =:^)  As i remember, the number was 90% or so taken
  68. by the Paulina.... ouch. =;^)

  72. This program is SourceWare... if you like it, send us some source
  73. to some of your code.  And we're willing to swap... mail us somewhere
  74. ahead of time and tell us what it is you wanna swap and what it is
  75. you want for it.

  78. At TPPI we're working on a megademo that hopefully will be able to
  79. boot and run both on Amigas and ST's, off the same disk, if that's
  80. possible... =;^)  No title yet, though we're kicking around a few
  81. at this point.  Any suggestions that you're too lazy or too inept to
  82. code yerself, just send 'em our way and we'll see what we can do
  83. about sticking your name in a scrolltext somewhere. =:^)
